The geometry has plenty of clearance in all the important areas the components work together to make it comfortable and the details are all well thought out. The fsr xc series should not be mistaken with the familiar stumpjumper fsr xc series as the latter is a higher end series with 5 inches of travel. The bike is stable going through rock gardens and feels solid off jumps. The components seems to fail too quickly. The fsr xc comes with 4 inches of travel which in my opinion suffices for my type of trail riding.
In other words you need the stumpjumper fsr comp 6fattie. I would get a broken spoke about every 50 miles of riding. Still it s a worthy classic and well worth considering. It takes 650b wheels and wraps them in 3 0 tires in order to achieve.
Basically i just ride trails and not race and i don t do drops more than about 1 foot. The comp carbon version comes with rockshox revelation fork. I also had ridden the 2013 and 2014 stumpy fsr evo models at two sedona press camps hosted by magura usa.
